
Saumitra Saxena
Saumitra Saxena is a Research Scientist at the Clean Combustion Research Center (CCRC) at KAUST in Saudi Arabia and a member of the Research and Innovation Committee for the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA). Boasting over 20 years of experience across academia and industry, Saxena has previously worked as a combustion and pollutant chemistry expert at General Electric Global Research (GRC) and holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Before joining GE, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Energy and Environmental Engineering Division at the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI). His research areas include carbon footprint reduction through technological innovations, low-emission combustion technologies for various engines, and the economic utilization of waste fuels like plastic and bottom-of-the-barrel fuels. Additionally, Saxena is the technology editor for the forthcoming book "The Hydrogen Economy and Saudi Arabia," published by Routledge in collaboration with KAUST and KAPSARC.
